Grandpa Tom's Policies Back to the shop

Delivery, returns,
privacy & terms

Read before publishing Every highlighted span needs a real value. Stripe will ask for a refund policy and a contact address before it will process live payments, and several of these are the documents it means. Nothing here is legal advice; if the business grows past a few thousand dollars a year, have somebody licensed in Texas read it.

Delivery & pickup

We hand deliver. We do not mail the seasoning. Texas cottage food law (Health & Safety Code 437.0194) requires that an order placed online is delivered in person by the operator, an employee or a household member. That is not a preference, it is the rule we operate under until production moves into a licensed kitchen.

Where we deliver

Within [30] miles of [neighborhood], Austin, Texas. That covers roughly these zip codes: [list the zips so people do not have to guess]. Outside that, pick up from us at a market instead.

How long it takes

Orders are usually delivered within [2 to 4] days. Deliveries run in one batch on [day of the week]. You will get a text when we are on the way.

Minimum order

There is a [$35] minimum for delivery. Under that, meet us at a market, which is free.

Pickup

Free. Order online, choose pickup, and collect it from us at any market or event on our schedule. Bring the order confirmation on your phone.

Shirts and stickers

Merchandise is not food, so it ships by USPS anywhere in the United States. Flat $4.00, free over $30. Usually out the door within [2] business days.

Returns & refunds

If you do not like it, tell us and we will refund the jar. Opened or not. No form, no return shipping, no argument. Email [email protected] within [30] days with your order number and we will refund the original payment method within [5 to 7] business days.

We do not ask for the jar back. Sending food back and forth helps nobody.

Damaged or wrong order

Tell us and we will replace it. A photo helps but is not required.

Shirts

Unworn and unwashed, within [30] days, exchange for another size or refund. We cover the cost of getting it back to us.

Wholesale

Unopened cases within 30 days, our call. Opened cases are not returnable.

Privacy

The short version: we collect the least we can, we do not sell anything about you, and we do not run ad trackers.

What we collect

What we do with it

Fulfil your order, answer your questions, and, if you asked for it, send an occasional email. That is the whole list. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we have never received a request to do so.

Who else sees it

[Stripe] for payments, [email provider] for the mailing list, and [USPS] for merchandise shipping. Nobody else.

How long we keep it

Order records for [7] years, because tax rules require it. Mailing list until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Texas residents have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, including the right to know what we hold, to correct it, to get a copy, and to have it deleted. Email [email protected] and we will handle it within 45 days. There is no form and no fee.

Children

This is a seasoning company. The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13.

Email

Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link and our mailing address, as CAN-SPAM requires. One click and you are off the list for good.
